Lagos Vaccinates 89% of Targeted Children, Begins Mop-Up Exercise

The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board (LSPHCB) has announced that 89 per cent of targeted children have been successfully vaccinated across the State during its ongoing immunisation campaign.

The Permanent Secretary of the Board, Dr. Ibrahim Akinwunmi Mustafa, mni, described the achievement as a result of strong collaboration among government agencies, health workers, community leaders, and parents.
ensure no child is left behind, the Board disclosed plans to commence a mop-up exercise involving house-to-house visits and intensified community outreach to reach missed children.
Dr. Mustafa reassured parents that all vaccines used are safe, free, and meet national and international standards, stressing that immunisation protects children against preventable diseases.

He urged parents, caregivers, and community influencers to support the exercise, describing vaccination as a collective responsibility critical to securing a healthier future for Lagos children.
