The Lagos State Government has unveiled a strategic plan to reclaim, document, and formalise informal land assets across the state to unlock economic value and improve land governance.

The initiative was disclosed in a statement released on the official Lagos State Government platform following a stakeholders’ engagement in Alausa.
Permanent Secretary, Office of Physical Planning, Olumide Sotire, said the initiative responds to years of abuse of informal land spaces and reflects the government’s resolve to restore order.
He confirmed that Octagon Multi Projects has been appointed as the consulting firm for the project, which will involve all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

The programme is expected to boost revenue generation, strengthen urban planning, and ensure that all land assets contribute meaningfully to Lagos State’s economic development.
