The Lagos State Government has commenced a three-day capacity-building workshop for Internal Auditors across Ministries, Departments and Agencies to enhance audit documentation, accuracy and professional integrity within the public service. The training, held at Cordia Hotel in Alausa, Ikeja, is designed to strengthen accountability systems and reinforce best practices in public sector auditing.

Declaring the workshop open, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Internal Audit, Dr. (Mrs.) Oyeyemi Ayoola, described the theme, “Audit Documentation Excellence: Ensuring Accuracy, Traceability & Professional Integrity,” as timely. She emphasised that audit documentation remains central to effective risk management and compliance with established government controls.
Permanent Secretary, Office of Internal Audit, Mrs. Monsurat Titilope Alaka, said the initiative fulfils a commitment made in December 2025 to institutionalise continuous professional development for auditors. She stressed that accurate and traceable documentation strengthens transparency and reinforces public trust.
Consultant for the training and Chief Business Officer of Arkounting Professional Services, Dr. Olusola Olowoyeye, underscored the importance of digital competencies in modern auditing. He noted that enhanced report-writing and technology-driven processes would improve efficiency and value for money in governance.

Participants commended the State Government for investing in their professional growth, expressing optimism that the workshop would mark a turning point in audit practices and elevate documentation standards across MDAs.
