Lagos State Government Closes Another Mushin Market Due to Sanitation Issues

Alamutu Market in Idioro, Mushin Local Government Area, shut down over poor sanitation concerns.

The Lagos State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has taken the decision to close the Alamutu Market in Idioro, Mushin Local Government Area, citing concerns about poor sanitation and inadequate waste disposal practices.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced this development in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday. He emphasized that the closure of the market was carried out on his directive.

In his statement, the Commissioner stated, "At my instruction, #Lawma_gov (Lagos State Waste Management Authority) sealed the Alamutu (Ologede) market at Idioro, Mushin earlier today (October 3rd) due to its unacceptable sanitary conditions and ineffective waste disposal practices."
