Lagos State Government has forged a partnership with the Nigeria Police Force and the Federal Road Safety Corps to uphold safety initiatives within schools across the state.
Dr. Bisi Esuruoso, the Lead Resource of the Safe School Lagos Initiative, announced this collaboration during the inaugural Beacon of Safety Award Conference in the state.
She further mentioned that the initiative is exploring technology to enhance its ongoing programs. Additionally, the initiative is engaging stakeholders in the technology sector and has established an information portal for schools to access safety-related information easily.
The collaboration also includes working closely with the police, Federal Road Safety Corps, and first responders to ensure school safety.
Mobolaji Ogunlende, the state Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, commended Chibuikem Nwofor, an SS3 student and Head Boy of Dowen College, for receiving the Champion of Safety in schools award and for actively contributing to the safety of fellow students and staff in the school.
