The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget, in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria (CIPMN), has commenced a three-day workshop aimed at strengthening work planning and strategic project execution across the public sector.

The workshop, taking place at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ikeja, is designed to enhance institutional capacity for results-driven governance, effective planning, and sustainable project implementation in line with the State’s development objectives.

Delivering the keynote address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Olayinka Ojo, represented by the Director of Budget, Mr. Oluwafemi Orojimi Abiodun, emphasised that work planning remains the foundation of effective governance and meaningful development outcomes.

She noted that strategic impact goes beyond project completion, stressing the importance of delivering real value through improved service delivery, social inclusion, and enhanced quality of life for Lagos residents.

Participants commended the initiative, noting that the workshop would reduce project abandonment, improve coordination across MDAs, and align public sector practices with global project management standards
