Lagos Seeks Deeper U.S. Investment Partnerships in Key Growth Sectors

The Lagos State Government has reiterated its commitment to strengthening economic ties with the United States as the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose, hosted officials of the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos.

The delegation included the Consular General, Mr. Rick Swart; the Commercial Counselor, Ms. Julie LeBlanc; and Political/Economic Officer, Mr. Ojani Walthrust. The meeting was held at the Ministry and supported by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo, alongside management staff.
During the engagement, Mrs. Bada Ambrose outlined Lagos State’s priority investment areas, including green infrastructure, transportation, housing, energy, waste management, agriculture, innovation and technology through K.I.T.E, health, finance, and the Lagos State Medical Innovation and Industrial Zone (LASMIIZO).
She expressed the State’s readiness to collaborate with the U.S. Consulate General to facilitate deeper economic relations and attract sustainable investments that align with Lagos’ development agenda.

In response, the Consular General disclosed that over 200 U.S. companies are seeking mutually beneficial investment and business opportunities, assuring the State of the Consulate’s commitment to facilitating engagements that deliver tangible outcomes.
