Lagos Resolves Lekki Resettlement Issues Through Stakeholder Engagement

In line with its commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable urban development, the Lagos State Government has convened a stakeholders’ meeting with Akodo community leaders under Parcel A of the Lekki Resettlement Scheme.

The meeting, hosted by the Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Kaosarat Bada Ambrose, was held at the Ministry’s Conference Room and focused on resolving land-related concerns and strengthening community-government relations.
Key stakeholders in attendance included the Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Hon. Abiodun Tobun; Permanent Secretary of MCCTI, Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo; and the Alakodo of Akodo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba AbdulHakeem Olokodana.
Discussions centred on boundary demarcation, suspension of illegal sand mining activities, access control, and frameworks for collaboration between host communities and government agencies involved in the Lekki corridor development.

The Commissioner emphasized dialogue, transparency, and peaceful coexistence as essential pillars for sustainable development, with participants agreeing on practical steps to improve cooperation, protect public interest, and ensure orderly growth within the Lekki axis.
