Lagos Reaffirms Commitment to Collaborative Leadership at MCCTI Ministerial Retreat

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborative leadership as a strategy to drive economic excellence and institutional discipline. This was declared at the 2025 Ministerial Retreat of the Ministry of Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment (MCCTI) in Ikeja.


Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, speaking on the theme “Collaborative Leadership: Partnership to Drive Excellence,” noted that Lagos, as Nigeria’s economic hub, must prioritise structured alignment and partnership to unlock its full potential.

He commended MCCTI for reforms aimed at improving ease of doing business, investor engagement, and support for cooperatives and MSMEs. He emphasised that sustainable outcomes stem from coordinated inter-agency collaboration.

Commissioner Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose described the retreat as a moment for reflection and renewed commitment. She highlighted achievements including cooperative-based financing under LASMECO and the Lagos Export Readiness Programme (LASERP)..


Permanent Secretary, Mr. Babatunde Onigbanjo, stressed discipline, leadership clarity, and stakeholder engagement as critical to institutional credibility and measurable economic impact.
