Lagos State has restated its plan to become the creative capital of Africa. During a music summit held as part of the AFRIMA awards, officials explained that the state is putting a lot of money into music, film, and hospitality.

The Commissioner for Tourism, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, revealed that the state spent N8.4 billion on the creative sector last year. This money went into hosting concerts and training young people to become stars in the industry.
Looking ahead, the government plans to spend even more, with projections reaching N40 billion. They want to turn government-owned theaters into cinemas and music studios where young artists can record their songs for free.
There is also a new plan called the "Lagos Talent Hunt." This initiative is designed to find the next generation of global stars like Burna Boy and Davido. The government wants to provide the tools for these young talents to succeed.

The state encouraged everyone in the creative business to come forward with their ideas. Lagos says it has an "open-door policy" and is ready to partner with anyone who wants to help grow the entertainment industry.
