The Lagos State Primary Health Care Board has intensified its onboarding programme for newly recruited health workers under the HOPE–PHC Project. The orientation, held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry Hall in Ikeja, targets doctors, laboratory technicians and health information personnel deployed to Primary Health Centres.

Day Three of the programme focused on institutional familiarisation, service delivery protocols and performance expectations within the public health system. Facilitators also provided guidance on public service rules and professional conduct.

Permanent Secretary of the Board, Dr. Ibrahim Akinwunmi Mustafa, described the onboarding as critical to strengthening grassroots healthcare delivery. He noted that the initiative reflects the State Government’s investment in human capital development.

Participants were encouraged to uphold professionalism, discipline and empathy, recognising that their conduct directly influences public confidence in government healthcare facilities

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to universal health coverage and sustainable reforms aimed at improving maternal and child health outcomes across Lagos.
