In a move to enhance service delivery for the residents of Lagos, Lagos Traffic Radio and LASACO Assurance PLC have announced a deepened partnership. This collaboration was solidified during a courtesy visit by the new Managing Director of LASACO, Mr. Ademuye Shobo, to the station’s headquarters. Both agencies expressed a shared vision of using their platforms to create more value for the public through information and financial security.

Mr. Shobo praised Lagos Traffic Radio for its instrumental role in easing the daily commute for millions of Lagosians. By providing real-time traffic updates and advisories, the station helps reduce travel time and man-hours lost to congestion. He noted that the station is also a vital tool for disseminating accurate insurance information, helping to demystify a sector that is often misunderstood by the general public.

The partnership comes at a time of significant growth for LASACO Assurance, which recently concluded a private placement raising 11.1 billion Naira. Mr. Shobo revealed that the company is currently on a path to reach a 25-billion-naira capital base, in compliance with the new NERA 2025 law. This financial strengthening is expected to provide better coverage and more robust insurance products for residents and businesses in the state.

Responding to the visit, Mr. Tayo Akanle, the General Manager of Lagos Traffic Radio, noted that the timing is perfect as the station is currently expanding its operations. He highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance broadcast signals, ensuring that traffic information reaches every corner of the state. Akanle emphasized that partnerships with private entities like LASACO are essential drivers for the station’s continued growth.

The collaboration is expected to result in specialized programming and joint initiatives aimed at promoting safety and financial literacy. As Lagos continues to expand, the synergy between a primary communication channel and a leading insurer offers a unique safety net for the populace. Both leaders pledged to maintain a long-term relationship that prioritizes the welfare of Lagos residents.
