Lagos State has intensified efforts to grow Nigeria’s non-oil revenue base through enhanced collaboration with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), as part of broader export diversification and economic sustainability goals.

The Honourable Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Folashade Bada Ambrose, made this known while receiving the newly appointed Regional Coordinator of NEPC, Architect Benedict Itegbe, and his management team at her office.
Mrs. Ambrose emphasized the need for stronger institutional synergy to unlock export opportunities for Lagos-based businesses, particularly small and medium-scale enterprises with export potential.
She reaffirmed the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to developing efficient trade pipelines that will position local producers to benefit from regional and global trade frameworks, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

According to the Commissioner, strategic export promotion remains a key driver for foreign exchange earnings, job creation, and sustainable economic growth, with Lagos positioned as Nigeria’s leading export and logistics hub.
