Lagos Ministry of Justice Hosts Kano AG on Study Tour

The Lagos State Ministry of Justice on Friday, February 6, 2026, received a high-level delegation from Kano State led by the Honourable Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abdulkarim Kabiru-Maude, SAN, on a courtesy and technical visit to its Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja.

The visit was aimed at understudying the operational structure, institutional framework, and justice administration processes of the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, widely regarded as a pace-setter in justice sector reforms in Nigeria.
Welcoming the delegation, the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Lawal Pedro, SAN, described the engagement as a strategic platform for peer learning and knowledge exchange. He reaffirmed Lagos State’s commitment to supporting justice sector reforms through collaboration, transparency, and the sharing of best practices across states.
Representing the Commissioner, the Solicitor-General and Permanent Secretary, Mr. Hameed Oyenuga, provided a detailed presentation on the Ministry’s departments, units, and agencies, highlighting their respective roles, coordination mechanisms, and ongoing reforms targeted at enhancing efficiency and service delivery.

In his remarks, Barrister Kabiru-Maude expressed appreciation for the warm reception and professionalism of the Lagos Ministry of Justice, noting that the visit would contribute significantly to strengthening justice administration and institutional development in Kano State through lessons drawn from Lagos’ experience.
