The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has commenced aerial surveillance patrols across the state in partnership with the Nigeria Police Force Airwing Command to strengthen intelligence gathering and enhance public safety.

The maiden patrol covered Lagos Island and the mainland in a coordinated low-altitude manoeuvre designed to demonstrate operational reach and rapid response capability. The initiative marks a significant expansion of Lagos’ modern security infrastructure.

Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Mr. Ayo Ogunsan, described the patrols as a strategic investment aimed at deterring criminal activities, monitoring security flashpoints, and supporting coordinated law enforcement responses.

He stated that the flights would provide real-time surveillance intelligence, assisting ground officers in responding swiftly to emerging threats while reinforcing the state’s overall security framework.

Ogunsan emphasised that the aerial patrol initiative is a sustained programme and not a one-off exercise, assuring residents and businesses of the government’s continued commitment to proactive crime prevention.
