The Lagos State Government has intensified efforts to grow its creative economy with an inspection tour of key cultural and creative hubs across the State.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, led a team of officials to the Lekki Arts and Crafts Market and Spotlight, Victoria Island, on February 4, 2026.
The visit was aimed at assessing existing facilities, engaging artisans directly, and identifying opportunities to further support creative entrepreneurs.
Officials noted that strengthening cultural assets remains central to preserving indigenous heritage, creating jobs, and enhancing Lagos’ global visibility.

As one of Africa’s leading tourism destinations and a recognised global art hub, Lagos continues to prioritise the creative sector as a driver of sustainable economic growth.
