Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the wife of the Lagos State Governor, has urged orphanages in the state to ensure that each child in their care is registered with the Lagos State Health Management Agency to receive proper health coverage.
She made this announcement during a pre-conference press briefing for the National Women Conference organized by the Committee of Wives of Lagos State Officials.
Dr. Sanwo-Olu emphasized that orphans in the state are now covered by the Lagos State Health Insurance Scheme to ensure their access to healthcare. She also mentioned that last year, 894 orphans were registered in hospitals, and orphanages have been advised to register all children in their care with LASHMA.
This initiative aims to monitor the well-being of these children. Additionally, Dr. Sanwo-Olu discussed the upcoming women's conference with the theme 'Unleash Your Potential,' set to take place from October 17 to 19 at the Convention Centre, Eko Hotels & Suites, encouraging participants to step out of their comfort zones and discover their true capabilities.
