Lagos State First Lady Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu led hundreds of school boys on an educational tour of key military and security formations as part of the 2026 Lagos Boy Child Initiative (LBCI) Residential Camp. The tour included visits to the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, and Department of State Services in Ojo.

The initiative aims to expose boys to potential careers within Nigeria’s security architecture while fostering discipline, patriotism, and purpose. Dr. Sanwo-Olu emphasized the need for structured mentorship to bridge awareness gaps and correct misconceptions about military careers.

During the visits, participants interacted with officers and observed operational procedures at facilities such as Ikeja Cantonment, TA Lagbaja, and NNS Beecroft. The First Lady highlighted that programs like LBCI cultivate future leaders capable of contributing positively to society.

Military officials, including Brigadier-General Ayokunle Owolabi and Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Suleh, praised the initiative, noting the importance of early exposure and discipline in shaping responsible and ambitious youths. They encouraged participants to dream big and pursue excellence.

The four-day LBCI Residential Camp now in its fourth edition, brings together over 500 boys from diverse schools and communities across Lagos State. The program focuses on mentorship, leadership training, and career guidance to build socially responsible, disciplined, and confident young men.
