The Lagos State Government has presented financial assistance cheques to another 250 indigent residents under the Eko Cares Financial Assistance Programme, reinforcing its commitment to social protection and inclusive governance. The initiative is implemented through the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement.

The cheque presentation ceremony was held at the office’s premises and attended by government officials and beneficiaries. The intervention is part of ongoing efforts to support vulnerable residents and cushion the impact of economic hardship across the state.

The cheques were presented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore. They reiterated the administration’s resolve to ensure that no indigent Lagosian is left behind.

With this latest disbursement, the total number of beneficiaries under the programme has exceeded 1,000 since the beginning of 2026. The development underscores the government’s sustained commitment to people-centred welfare interventions.

Officials noted that the Lagos State Government will continue to engage purposefully with residents while strengthening social support systems that improve livelihoods and promote dignity among vulnerable groups.
