Lagos CPWB Promises Improved Pilgrimage Services

Intending pilgrims in Lagos State have much to look forward to as the 2025 pilgrimage season approaches. The Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a suite of improved services for the exercise, which is set to begin later this month. During a screening exercise at the Chapel of Christ the Light in Alausa, officials detailed the upgrades designed to ensure a seamless spiritual journey.

​The Board Secretary, Dr. Okudero Gbolabo Omoniyi, assured pilgrims that their welfare is a top priority for the state. Improvements for the upcoming trip include more conducive hotel accommodations, weather-resistant welfare materials, and high-quality meals. Furthermore, the itinerary has been expanded to include new historical and biblically significant sites in both Israel and Jordan.

The recent screening was not just administrative but also medical, ensuring that all participants are physically fit for the rigors of international travel. Safety guidelines for the airlift were also shared to prepare the pilgrims for the logistics of the journey. This thorough preparation is part of the board’s commitment to maintaining a high standard of care for every participant.

​Notable leaders, including the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Olanrewaju Layode, were present to show their support. They reiterated that the state government is fully committed to the safety and spiritual fulfillment of all pilgrims. The Special Adviser on Christian Religious Matters also emphasized that the government's role is to make the holy journey as stress-free as possible.

The intending pilgrims expressed their gratitude for the state’s efforts in facilitating this long-awaited spiritual milestone. Many cited the government’s transparency and organization as key factors in their confidence for the upcoming trip.
