The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, on Wednesday decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers in a significant ceremony aimed at boosting morale, strengthening professionalism and reinforcing the state’s security architecture amid growing security demands in Africa’s most populous city.

The decoration exercise, held at the Lagos State Police Command headquarters, involved the promotion of 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were elevated to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
CP Jimoh described the promotions as a clear reflection of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to recognising dedication, discipline and outstanding service, noting that the exercise demonstrates that excellence within the Nigeria Police Force is both valued and rewarded.
He stressed that the elevation of the officers was not only a personal achievement for them but also a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency, leadership capacity and effective service delivery across divisions and formations in Lagos State.

The commissioner charged the newly promoted officers to see their new ranks as a call to higher responsibility, urging them to uphold integrity, professionalism and accountability while maintaining public trust and confidence in the Force.
“The exercise underscores the fact that hard work, dedication and discipline are recognised and duly rewarded, and it should serve as further motivation for improved performance across the command,” Jimoh said.
“Demonstrate greater diligence, discipline and professionalism in the discharge of your duties, because a higher rank comes with increased responsibility and accountability to both the Force and the public,” he added.
The commissioner congratulated the families of the promoted officers and expressed confidence that their elevation would translate into improved safety and security for residents, assuring Lagosians that the command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state.
