The Lagos State Government has commenced Phase V of the integration of additional Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) onto the CitizensGate platform, as part of efforts to strengthen inclusive governance, transparency, and citizen participation.

The programme, held at the Secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, was organised by the Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement. Delivering her opening remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Office, Engr. Sholabomi Shasore, explained that CitizensGate was established to enable direct interaction between citizens and government institutions.

She stated that evolving global governance standards require governments to be accessible and responsive, noting that citizens increasingly expect to access services, lodge complaints, and receive feedback without physical visits to government offices.

According to her, 95 MDAs have already been onboarded onto the platform, while an additional 25 MDAs have been approved for integration under the current phase. She added that continuous upgrades to the platform are aimed at meeting public expectations and improving service delivery.

The Permanent Secretary urged participating MDAs to fully support the integration process through timely submission of operational procedures, adherence to service-level agreements, and active participation, stressing that effective collaboration is key to sustaining real-time citizen engagement across Lagos State.
