Members of the Lagos Agrinnovation Club have undertaken an industry-focused tour of the Lagos State Central Food Security Systems and Logistics Hub in Ketu-Ereyun and the Lagos Rice Mill in Imota as part of efforts to inspire youth participation in agriculture and agribusiness. The visit provided participants with firsthand exposure to the state’s technology-driven food processing, storage, and distribution systems.

The tour highlighted Lagos State’s strategic investment in modern agricultural infrastructure designed to improve food security and strengthen the state’s food supply chain. Participants observed how large-scale operations integrate technology with logistics to ensure efficient food processing and distribution across the state.

Officials at the facilities explained the operational framework behind the rice mill and the food logistics hub, noting that both projects play a key role in boosting local food production while reducing dependence on external supply chains.

For the young agripreneurs, the tour served as a learning opportunity to understand how innovation, mechanization, and modern management systems can transform agriculture into a viable and profitable sector

The Lagos Agrinnovation Club initiative forms part of broader state efforts to encourage youth engagement in agriculture through training, mentorship, funding opportunities, and exposure to modern agricultural systems aimed at strengthening long-term food security in Lagos.
