The Lagos State Ministry of Housing has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive housing development and accessibility compliance across public infrastructure in the state.

The assurance was given by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Abdul Afeez Toriola, during a courtesy visit by the Lagos State Office for Disability Affairs (LASODA) as part of its accessibility advocacy initiative.
The General Manager of LASODA, Mrs. Adenike Oyetunde-Lawal, stressed the need to mainstream accessibility features such as ramps, elevators, walkways and signage in all public housing and facilities.
She noted that accessibility is fundamental to dignity, independence and full societal participation for persons with disabilities, urging policymakers to move beyond general commitments to practical implementation.

Both agencies reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration, with LASODA requesting inclusion in future stakeholders’ engagements to provide technical guidance on disability-inclusive development.
