The Insurance Department of the Lagos State Ministry of Finance received a significant boost today with the donation of three laptops and a printer from the insurance brokers. The presentation took place at the Ministry's headquarters, marking a continuing trend of private-sector support for state administrative functions. The donation was led by representatives of the Lead Brokers on the Global Insurance Package, highlighting the strong relationship between the state and its financial partners.

Key figures present at the handover included Mr. Oduwole Olufemi, Managing Director of Leverage Insurance Brokers, and Mr. Olusegun Kafaru of Quicklink Insurance Brokers. On the government side, the equipment was received by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Mahmud Tajudeen Alao, and the Director of Insurance, Mr. Akosile Olanrewaju. The gesture is aimed at enhancing the digital capacity of the Insurance Department in managing state assets and policies.

Speaking during the presentation, the brokers expressed their commitment to supporting the Ministry’s efforts in maintaining a robust insurance framework for the state. They noted that providing modern hardware is a practical way to ensure that the Insurance Department can process data more efficiently and maintain accurate records. This contribution is part of a broader corporate social responsibility initiative to support the "Greater Lagos" vision.

Mr. Mahmud Tajudeen Alao thanked the brokers for their generosity, noting that the equipment comes at a crucial time as the Ministry seeks to further digitize its operations. He emphasized that such partnerships are vital for improving the ease of doing business and ensuring transparency in government financial dealings. The new tools will be deployed immediately to support the department’s daily regulatory and oversight functions.

This donation underscores the importance of public-private partnerships (PPP) in driving institutional growth in Lagos State. By equipping the Ministry of Finance with better tools, the insurance brokers are helping to build a more resilient and tech-savvy administrative structure. The event ended with a brief tour of the department and a commitment to future collaborations.
