The Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday welcomed His Royal Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, on a courtesy visit to Lagos House, Marina. The visit underscored the enduring bonds between Lagos State and Ibadanland, anchored in shared history, culture, and mutual respect.

Oba Ladoja, as the paramount ruler of Ibadanland, is widely regarded as a respected custodian of Yoruba tradition and values. His visit to the seat of government in Lagos was seen as a symbolic gesture of unity and collaboration among traditional institutions and modern governance structures in the South-West region.

Governor Sanwo-Olu described the engagement as meaningful, noting that discussions during the visit reflected a deep appreciation for cultural heritage and the role of traditional leadership in promoting social harmony and development. He emphasized Lagos State’s continued respect for royal institutions as vital partners in nation-building.

The governor also highlighted the importance of sustained dialogue between state governments and traditional rulers in addressing contemporary challenges, fostering peace, and preserving cultural identity amid rapid urbanization and economic growth.

The courtesy visit concluded in a warm atmosphere of mutual respect, reinforcing the shared commitment of both leaders to cultural preservation, regional cooperation, and the promotion of unity across communities in the South-West and Nigeria at large.
