Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has welcomed the Governing Board of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), led by its Chairman, Chief Idris Ibikunle Olorunnimbe, on their first official courtesy visit to Lagos State.

The Governor described Lagos as the natural starting point for strategic engagements in the communications sector, noting that the State remains at the centre of innovation, digital infrastructure, and technological scale in Nigeria.

He explained that decisions and developments within Lagos often set the tone for national trends, particularly in communication, innovation, and enterprise growth. According to him, the State’s size, population, and economic activity make it a critical testing ground for policy implementation.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasised that robust communication systems are essential to effective governance, business competitiveness, and social inclusion, adding that digital connectivity plays a central role in linking people to opportunities.

He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to working collaboratively with regulatory institutions to strengthen communication infrastructure, drive innovation, and ensure that governance remains focused on initiatives that positively impact lives.
