Gov. Sanwo-Olu Welcomes EKEDC Leadership, Pushes for Improved Power Supply in Lagos

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Friday received the leadership of Eko Electricity Distribution Company Plc (EKEDC) at Lagos House, Marina, in a strategic meeting focused on improving electricity supply across the State.


The Governor held discussions with the Chairman of EKEDC, Mr. Olubunmi Peters, and his management team, reviewing the current state of power distribution in Lagos. The engagement centered on assessing operational performance, identifying persistent service gaps, and outlining immediate areas requiring improvement.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that electricity remains a critical driver of economic growth, business sustainability, and household productivity. He stressed that reliable power supply must remain a top priority for both the State Government and distribution companies operating within Lagos.

According to the Governor, engagements such as this are necessary to ensure accountability and transparency in service delivery. He reiterated the State Government’s readiness to support reforms that will enhance efficiency and responsiveness in the sector.
