The Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening education in Lagos State through strategic global partnerships, as he welcomed the leadership of Westerfield College, United Kingdom. The meeting focused on collaboration opportunities to expand access to global educational pathways for Lagos students.

The Governor noted that education remains a core pillar of the State’s THEMES+ development agenda, describing it as the foundation for sustainable growth and social development. He emphasised that the administration is determined to ensure that no child in Lagos is left behind or excluded from quality education.
Highlighting recent achievements, Governor Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the State is set to commission 36 new schools in Tolu, Ajegunle, in the coming months. According to him, the initiative reflects the government’s resolve to provide conducive learning environments where every child has access to a desk in a quality classroom.
He also noted significant progress in tertiary education, revealing that Lagos State has expanded from one state-owned university to three, alongside the establishment of a dedicated Ministry of Tertiary Education. The move, he said, ensures focused attention on higher institutions and skills development.

While acknowledging that challenges remain, the Governor affirmed that his administration is deliberately building a clear pathway for future generations. He stated that by investing in education infrastructure, partnerships, and policy reforms, Lagos State is laying a strong foundation for students to thrive locally and compete globally.
