Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other state governors at the National Economic Council (NEC) Conference in Abuja, where critical discussions were held on Nigeria’s prevailing economic realities and policy direction.

The high-level meeting, chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima, provided an opportunity for federal and state leaders to review current economic conditions, exchange perspectives, and examine policy measures aimed at strengthening the nation’s economy amid ongoing reforms.

Deliberations at the council focused on strategies for achieving inclusive, resilient, and sustainable economic growth, with particular attention to policies that address citizens’ needs, boost productivity, and reinforce subnational economies across the country.

Governor Sanwo-Olu reiterated Lagos State’s commitment to aligning with national economic priorities, stressing that collaborative platforms such as the NEC are essential for policy coordination, shared learning, and effective implementation of economic initiatives.

The National Economic Council continues to serve as a key forum for cooperation between the federal and state governments, ensuring that economic decisions are strategic, well-coordinated, and focused on delivering measurable outcomes for Nigerians.
