The Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) USA Chapter, Dr. Vivian Maame Aba Dadzie, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to appoint qualified diaspora members into his new government.

Speaking during the NDC-USA’s annual conference and post-election victory celebration, Dr. Dadzie emphasized that many Ghanaians abroad possess the expertise, global exposure, and technical know-how that can drive Ghana’s development agenda forward.

“I strongly appeal to the President and party leadership do not overlook the diaspora,” she urged. “Among us are doctors, engineers, policy analysts, tech experts, and entrepreneurs ready to serve.”

She noted that the diaspora played a key role in the NDC’s 2024 electoral victory and should be recognised accordingly. “These are the architects of global innovation. Let’s not waste their potential,” she added, proposing advisory roles and appointments for overseas members.

Dr. Dadzie described the diaspora chapter as a “strategic arm” of the NDC during the campaign period, stressing that their political capital must be acknowledged to sustain morale and commitment.

She also cautioned party faithful to remain measured in their public conduct, especially online. “We’re no longer an opposition in exile. We are now stakeholders in governance. and must act as such,” she said.

The event was attended by Deputy National Organiser Elikem Kotoko, who represented the party’s national leadership.
