Ghana has announced that all participants attending the Diaspora Summit 2025 will be granted free entry visas. The summit, scheduled to hold from December 19 to 20 at the Accra International Conference Centre, is designed to foster collaboration and strengthen ties between Africa and its global diaspora.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the free visa initiative is part of Ghana’s broader Pan-African agenda. The move aims to ensure that Africans and people of African descent can participate without financial or bureaucratic barriers.
Participants are required to visit the nearest Ghanaian embassy, high commission, or consulate in their country of residence to obtain the free visa before traveling to Ghana. The ministry stressed that early processing is important to avoid delays.
Online registration for the summit is ongoing and will close on Monday, December 8. Participants are encouraged to complete their registration promptly to secure attendance and visa processing.
The government also reminded the public of existing visa waiver agreements.
Nationals from countries including Barbados, Bahamas, Dominica, Mauritius, Seychelles, South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mozambique, Tanzania, Trinidad and Tobago, Singapore, Sao Tome and Principe, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Jamaica, Rwanda, Morocco, Guyana, Saint Vincent and Grenadines, Malawi, and Grenada can enter Ghana without a visa.
In addition, holders of diplomatic, official, and service passports from Brazil, Colombia, China, Cuba, Germany, Sudan, Türkiye, Namibia, Hungary, Iran, India, Equatorial Guinea, St Kitts and Nevis, Suriname, Venezuela, Malta, and the United Arab Emirates are also exempt from visa requirements.
The Ministry encouraged all registered participants to approach Ghanaian missions abroad as soon as possible to complete visa processing. Authorities assured that all necessary support would be provided to ensure smooth entry for attendees.
