Education District III Secures 500 Scholarships Through Itire/Ikate LCDA Partnership

Education District III has secured 500 scholarship slots for students through a strategic partnership with the Itire/Ikate Local Council Development Area (LCDA), in a major boost to access to tertiary education.

The initiative, facilitated by the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District III, Mr. Olusegun Olawale Osinaike, will enable beneficiaries to receive up to 85 percent tuition fee coverage at Grace Polytechnic.

Council Leader of Itire/Ikate LCDA, Hon. Agbeyangi Olaoluwa Andre, described the programme as a deliberate investment in human capital development, noting that financial constraints remain a major barrier to education for many youths.

Osinaike explained that the scheme was modelled after a similar successful intervention implemented during his tenure in Education District IV, adding that inclusive development informed the decision to extend support beyond jurisdictional boundaries.

Education stakeholders commended the initiative, describing it as a life-changing opportunity that will reduce dropout rates, promote academic excellence, and empower youths with skills for the future.
