A diaspora-based socio-political group has commended President Bola Tinubu’s recent visit to the United Kingdom, describing it as a strategic move that reinforces Nigeria’s global standing and diplomatic relevance.
In a statement issued on Friday, the group said the President’s high-level engagements with British authorities reflect a renewed commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the UK.
The group noted that the visit underscores growing cooperation built on mutual respect, shared economic interests, and long-standing historical ties between both countries.
It added that the outcome of the trip is expected to open new channels for foreign direct investment, increased trade, and partnerships across key sectors such as infrastructure, energy, agriculture, and technology.
According to the group, the engagements have also boosted international confidence in Nigeria’s economic policies and leadership direction, positioning the country as a prime destination for global investors.
The group further highlighted the broader developmental impact, stating that stronger international relations could lead to improved capacity building, knowledge transfer, and empowerment opportunities, particularly for women and young people.
It concluded that sustained engagement with the diaspora and global partners remains essential for driving inclusive growth, strengthening institutions, and advancing Nigeria’s long-term economic and social development.
