A United States-based advocacy organization, the Elites Society for Better Nigeria (ESBN), has intensified its call for international support to address Nigeria’s ongoing security and governance crises. The group highlighted the urgent need for coordinated action against terrorism and systemic corruption undermining the country’s stability and development.

In a comprehensive statement issued from Washington, D.C., ESBN officials welcomed a recent engagement from U.S. authorities as a positive step toward international accountability measures. The organization noted that it had previously submitted petitions urging global intervention, particularly highlighting concerns over illicit financial activities by senior public officials and the persistent threat of terrorist networks.

ESBN President, Mr. Sudiq Musa, emphasized that the group’s focus is on promoting justice and transparency in Nigeria rather than aligning with any political agenda. He specifically called for investigations into high-profile figures within key national institutions, citing the need to trace misappropriated funds and recover assets allegedly acquired through corrupt practices.

“The engagement from global partners represents a critical opportunity to reinforce the rule of law and uphold accountability for actions that have long harmed Nigeria’s social and economic fabric,” Musa stated.

ESBN Secretary, Mr. Akpasi Akhiome, underscored that the organization is prepared to collaborate with international anti-corruption bodies and civil society networks to dismantle entrenched criminal networks and ensure that corrupt actors are held responsible. He further urged other diaspora groups, advocacy organizations, and international stakeholders to unite in efforts to restore integrity within Nigeria’s public institutions.

The group concluded with a reaffirmation of its commitment to national progress, highlighting the principles of justice, transparency, and good governance as central to a prosperous Nigeria. “Our mission is clear: a Nigeria free from corruption and terrorism, where citizens can thrive under accountable leadership,” Akhiome added.
