Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has called on youths to take proactive steps in shaping their future by cultivating focus, preparation, and practical solutions to societal challenges. The Deputy Governor delivered the keynote address at the 2025/2026 IBILE Youth Leadership Seminar held at the Adeyemi-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.

Hamzat stressed the need for youths to move beyond merely identifying problems, urging them to become innovators and change agents. “Act by preparing, focusing, and seeking appropriate solutions to the challenges you have noticed. We must unleash dormant potential and birth great ideas that will define the emerging Lagos,” he said.

He further emphasized the importance of collaboration and practical leadership approaches, encouraging participants to ‘see a need, build a team, start small, and create a ripple.’ According to him, the youth represent over 60 percent of Lagos’ population, making their empowerment central to sustainable development.

Officials including Head of Service Mr. Olabode Agoro and Commissioner for Youth and Social Development Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende commended the initiative, noting the IBILE Youth Academy’s track record in producing transformative young leaders since 2017.

Hamzat concluded by highlighting Lagos as a dynamic hub for commerce, innovation, and resilience, describing the seminar as a platform that equips youths with skills and mindset for both state-level and global leadership roles.
