Lagos State Deputy Governor Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has urged Nigerians to use the periods of Ramadan and Lent for repentance, reflection, and moral renewal.

Hamzat made the call during the 19th Annual Ramadan Lecture held in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos, where he stressed the importance of obedience to divine teachings and the role of faith in building a peaceful society.
He noted that many societal challenges such as insecurity, distrust, and social conflict often arise when individuals fail to follow the moral principles outlined in religious teachings.
The Deputy Governor emphasised that respect for neighbours and adherence to moral values are central to both Islamic teachings and broader societal harmony.

He added that Lagos is well prepared to showcase the continent’s cultural strength, economic potential, and entrepreneurial spirit to the global community.
