The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Babatunde Hunpe, has expressed profound gratitude to the Restore Foundation for Child Sight and the management of Badagry General Hospital for their recent free medical outreach. The program specifically targeted children and adolescents between the ages of 0 and 17, providing critical eye and dental care to the community.

During his visit to the medical team, led by Dr. Andar Ferguson, Hon. Hunpe lauded the partnership between the government and non-governmental organizations. He personally committed to footing the bills for any children who, following their screenings, were recommended for more complex eye surgeries, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent them from regaining their sight.

The Chairman described Badagry as a "cradle of western civilization" with immense potential, using the platform to advocate for more infrastructural and educational support for the area. He praised the Medical Director of Badagry General Hospital, Dr. Adesola Oluseyi, for his leadership and for creating an environment where such impactful community interventions can thrive.

Dr. Muskinni Salau, a Nigerian partner in the initiative, noted that the turnout for the outreach was overwhelming, occasionally overstretching their equipment and supplies. However, he emphasized that the warm reception from the local government and the community's enthusiasm made the exercise a resounding success, contributing significantly to the well-being of the participants.

The event concluded with a cultural exchange, as the Council Chairman presented traditional Sato drums and other gifts to the visiting medical team. This gesture served to showcase Badagry’s rich heritage while cementing a relationship that officials hope will lead to more regular health interventions for the people of the region.
