APC USA Felicitates Yilwatda, Promises Deeper Diaspora Involvement

The United States chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has extended congratulations to the party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, along with members of the newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC), following their emergence at the party’s recent convention.
In a statement issued by its chairman, Professor Taiwo Ajibolu Balofin, the group described the outcome of the exercise as a strong indication of confidence in the party’s leadership structure, both within Nigeria and among members abroad.
Balofin noted that the convention reflected the APC’s commitment to democratic processes and internal cohesion, adding that the leadership transition was widely accepted across party lines.
He commended Yilwatda for what he described as steady efforts to unify and stabilise the party within a short period, stating that his return to office demonstrates the trust party members have in his leadership style and direction.
The APC USA chapter also highlighted the importance of the diaspora community in advancing the party’s global outlook, expressing support for ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening engagement with members living outside Nigeria.
According to the group, Nigerians in the diaspora play a vital role in shaping international perception, attracting investment, and promoting the country’s development agenda.
Balofin called on APC members abroad to align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging them to actively support policies designed to drive national growth and economic progress.
Addressing internal concerns, he encouraged aggrieved members within the diaspora chapter to adopt dialogue and existing conflict-resolution channels to settle disputes, stressing the need for unity and cooperation.
The statement reaffirmed the chapter’s commitment to fostering closer ties between diaspora members and the party’s leadership, with a focus on ensuring that their contributions are reflected in strategic decisions.
APC USA concluded by pledging continued support for the party’s programmes and reaffirming its dedication to strengthening the APC’s presence globally while contributing to Nigeria’s overall development.
