VP. Shettima to Launch Learning, Empowerment Fund at Africa Social Impact Summit 2026

Vice President Kashim Shettima is set to launch a new learning and empowerment fund targeting Nigerian children, women and youth at the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS) 2026 in Abuja.

The launch will take place on January 28, 2026, at the State House Conference Centre as part of the ASIS High-Level Policy Engagement co-hosted by Nigeria and key international partners.
The initiative, convened by the Office of the Vice President in collaboration with Sterling One Foundation and the United Nations system, aims to strengthen human capital development through education, financial inclusion and empowerment.
ASIS 2026, themed “Scaling Action – Driving Inclusive Growth through Policy and Innovation,” will convene over 200 leaders from government, the private sector, development institutions, civil society and the diplomatic community.

According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communication, Stanley Nkwocha, the event will also feature the launch of flagship initiatives including the Nigeria Foundational Learning Fund, the Business Coalition for Education and the Women and Youth Financial and Economic Inclusion platform.
