Nigerian-American Teen Clinches Formula Regional Oceania Crown

Nigerian-American racing talent Ugo Ugochukwu claimed the Formula Regional Oceania Trophy in New Zealand after a season marked by four victories and consistent podium finishes, ending 15 points clear of his closest rival. Despite a suspension-related qualifying setback at the final round, Ugochukwu secured the championship. He is now set to compete in the 2026 FIA Formula 3 season with Campos Racing.

Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (retd), held discussions in Abuja with Nationals in Diaspora Mentoring Corp (NIDMECORP) leaders to boost collaboration on national unity, security, leadership development and diaspora engagement. The meeting focused on integrating diaspora expertise into security and governance roles, and strengthening ties between government institutions and global Nigerian communities.

Speaking with the Plateau State Association, USA, in Washington, D.C., he highlighted the diaspora’s contributions through investment, expertise and advocacy. Mutfwang outlined state initiatives to enhance governance and invited structured engagement through a proposed diaspora commission.
