A court in the United Kingdom has sentenced two Nigerian nationals, Fred Akinsanya and Daniel Raji, to a combined 21 years in prison for offences involving a 15-year-old girl.
The judgment was delivered at Inner London Crown Court, where the men were found guilty of serious sexual offences committed in February 2025 in Brixton, South London.
According to proceedings, the victim had been at a local pub where she was given alcoholic drinks by the defendants. She was later taken to a private residence under the pretext of socialising. The court heard that the situation escalated after her friends left, leaving her in a vulnerable state.
During sentencing, the presiding judge strongly criticised the actions of both men, highlighting the deliberate exploitation of the victim’s condition. The court noted that the incident had caused lasting psychological harm, significantly affecting her confidence and daily life.
Akinsanya, aged 34, received a 10-year prison sentence after being convicted on one count of rape. Raji, 29, was handed an 11-year sentence, having been found guilty on multiple counts, including rape and the production of an indecent image involving a minor.
Authorities described the case as deeply troubling, reiterating the justice system’s stance on protecting minors and prosecuting offenders to the fullest extent of the law.
