The United Arab Emirates has rejected claims linking it to military actions against Iran, insisting it has not taken part in any operations targeting the country amid the escalating Middle East conflict.

Speaking in Geneva, the UAE’s ambassador to the United Nations, Jamal Al Musharakh, said the Gulf nation has consistently maintained a neutral stance and does not intend to be drawn into the confrontation between regional powers.

According to him, the UAE has made it clear that its territory and military facilities are not being used to launch attacks on Iran. He stressed that the country’s position remains focused on avoiding escalation and promoting diplomatic solutions to the crisis.

The ambassador expressed concern that the UAE has nevertheless come under repeated attacks since hostilities began. He said the country has experienced numerous missile and drone strikes during the conflict.

Despite these incidents, he noted that most of the incoming threats were intercepted by the nation’s air defense systems, limiting the level of destruction. However, a few attacks managed to cause casualties and injuries among civilians.

Authorities in the UAE also raised alarm over strikes on civilian infrastructure, including facilities linked to water production and energy supply. Officials described such actions as unacceptable and harmful to countries not directly involved in the war.

The ambassador emphasized that the UAE and several other Gulf states are not parties to the conflict and therefore should not be targeted. He argued that international law does not justify attacks on nations that are not participating in hostilities.

Meanwhile, Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, recently issued an apology to neighbouring countries affected by strikes carried out during the war. However, the UAE envoy said the continued attacks contradict those remarks and highlight the need for a genuine effort to reduce tensions and return to negotiations.
