He made this known while receiving the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Edward, at the State House in Abuja, where he stressed that young people remain central to Nigeria’s long-term development agenda.

Tinubu said Nigeria’s engagement at the forthcoming G-20 summit reflects its commitment to youth-focused growth and reforms that support innovation, productivity, and global competitiveness.

He highlighted key programmes such as the new students’ loans fund and the nationwide expansion of digital infrastructure, which are intended to remove barriers to education and broaden youth inclusion.

The president added that reforms across key sectors are being aligned to ensure long-term progress, institutional coordination, and broader opportunities for young Nigerians.

“We need to strengthen the economy for our youths. The reforms are about growth and prosperity for the nation, taking into full consideration demography and skills development,” Tinubu said.
“Our goal is to use education to drive down poverty, supported by deliberate reforms and improved collaboration among stakeholders,” he added.

Finance Minister Wale Edun and Prince Edward commended the administration’s efforts, noting Nigeria’s young population and affirming support for initiatives that expand skills development, opportunity, and youth empowerment across the country.
