President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his backing for the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Osun State, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, as preparations intensify for the August 15, 2026, off-cycle election.
Oyebamiji disclosed this after a meeting with the President in Abuja, describing the talks as constructive and focused on consolidating the party’s chances in the forthcoming poll.
The APC flagbearer was accompanied by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, signalling a show of alignment among key party leaders from the state.
According to Oyebamiji, the President expressed confidence in his candidacy and emphasised the need for cohesion within the party structure to secure victory at the polls.
He noted that the engagement strengthened his resolve to foster unity across party factions and mobilise support at the grassroots level in the months leading to the election.
Oyebamiji said his campaign would be anchored on inclusive governance, economic revitalisation and policies aimed at long-term development in Osun State.
He also linked his proposed agenda to the Federal Government’s broader reform objectives, stating that national economic renewal efforts would serve as a framework for his plans in the state.
Reassuring party members and residents, the APC candidate pledged to prioritise service-driven leadership and collective progress, expressing optimism that a united front would deliver electoral success in August.
