President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to attend the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, a major global summit focused on sustainable development and clean energy solutions.

The President arrived late Sunday night at the Zayed International Airport at about 11:30 pm local time. He was warmly received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, the UAE’s Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Tinubu is in the UAE following an official invitation from the country’s President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His visit reflects Nigeria’s growing diplomatic and economic engagement with the Middle East, particularly in areas linked to renewable energy and climate action.
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week brings together world leaders, investors, policymakers, and civil society groups to discuss energy innovation, climate finance, and practical steps for a greener global economy.

According to the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu will use the platform to position Nigeria as a strong destination for green investments, while strengthening Nigeria–UAE relations in line with the country’s long-term development goals.
