Her Majesty, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has been conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Utukpa-Oritse of the Warri Kingdom by the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III. The historic conferment took place on Thursday at the royal palace in Warri, Delta State, during a colourful ceremony that celebrated her Itsekiri maternal heritage and longstanding ties to the kingdom.

The First Lady, who arrived in Warri to a warm and jubilant reception, was accompanied by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi. Both dignitaries were received by the revered monarch and enthusiastic sons and daughters of the Warri Kingdom in what many described as a moment of cultural pride and unity.
During the ceremony, Senator Oluremi Tinubu was bestowed with the traditional title of Utukpa-Oritse, also known as Ugbọnẹ́, in recognition of her distinguished service to the nation and her deep-rooted ancestral connection to the Itsekiri people. The conferment underscores her heritage and strengthens the cultural bonds between the First Lady and the Warri Kingdom.
Earlier reports by TVC News highlighted that the visit marked a historic homecoming for the First Lady, drawing widespread attention across Delta State and beyond. The event was further amplified through statements and videos shared on social media platform X by media personality Lord of Warri, capturing moments from her grand arrival at the palace.

The palace statement described the visit as a significant milestone, noting the arrival of “Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” at the residence of the Olu of Warri. The occasion not only celebrated her maternal lineage but also symbolized unity, cultural pride, and renewed collaboration between traditional institutions and national leadership.
