A coordinated joint security operation has dismantled three major bandit camps in Kogi State, resulting in the rescue of kidnapped victims and neutralisation of armed criminals.

The operation involved personnel from the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Nigerian Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, DSS, and local vigilante groups. Air and ground assaults were deployed in synchronised strikes.

State Security Adviser Commander Jerry Sunday (rtd) disclosed that the camps were linked to notorious bandit leader Kachalla Babangida. He confirmed that several victims were rescued and transferred for medical treatment.

Authorities described the operation as part of sustained clearance efforts aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating in forested regions.

Security analysts say continued intelligence-driven operations will be crucial in restoring long-term stability and protecting rural communities.
