Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is scheduled to visit Washington on November 18 for high-level talks with U.S. President Donald Trump, a White House official confirmed on Monday.
The visit is expected to focus on two major issues: U.S. efforts to persuade Saudi Arabia to formally join the Abraham Accords, and ongoing negotiations over a potential bilateral defense agreement.
Trump has been actively pushing Riyadh to normalize relations with Israel, arguing that Saudi participation would mark a decisive shift in Middle East diplomacy. The kingdom has so far held back, insisting that progress toward Palestinian statehood remains a prerequisite.
Talks are also likely to cover Saudi Arabia’s request for stronger U.S. security guarantees and expanded access to advanced American military technology. The kingdom remains one of Washington’s biggest arms customers, with both nations maintaining decades-long strategic ties rooted in oil supply and defense cooperation.
Reports suggest both governments hope to finalize at least one formal agreement during the crown prince’s visit, but U.S. officials say negotiations are still ongoing.
