President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially announced the Motherland 2025 Festival, set for December 15–21, as part of efforts to revitalize Nigeria’s culture, economy, and international profile.

Speaking on the second anniversary of his administration, Tinubu described the festival as a strategic initiative to position Nigeria as a top global destination for tourism, investment, and creative industries.

He emphasized the importance of Nigeria’s diaspora, noting their contributions in expertise and investment as vital to national development. The event will unite voices from Africa and its diaspora to reinforce Nigeria’s leadership role on the continent and in global affairs.

The festival, organized by Discover Motherland Africa alongside the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, will take place in Abuja and Lagos.

Honourable Minister Hannatu Musawa outlined that the event will feature state pavilions, exhibitions, and focused tracks covering business, entertainment, culture, innovation, and investment opportunities. It aims to foster meaningful connections and facilitate diaspora engagement in sectors like technology, real estate, healthcare, and entertainment.

Government initiatives such as the Diaspora Bond and Non-Resident Bank Verification Number (BVN) have been introduced to simplify investment and participation for Nigerians living abroad.

Strategic partnerships with telecoms, banking, airlines, and hospitality sectors are being developed to ensure a seamless visitor experience—from airport arrivals and travel bookings to digital payments and accommodation.

The goal is to deliver a world-class, modern, and welcoming festival that showcases Nigeria’s cultural richness and economic potential while attracting global investors and tourists.
